Review of The Haunted World of El Superbeasto (2009) by Matthew E — 22 Sep 2009
A big surprise.
This is Rob Zombie's first animiated film and its exactly what you would expect from Rob Zombie. This is not your regular Saturday morning cartoon.
Tom Papa, who does voice for Beasto, also co-writes this film with Rob Zombie. With Tom Papa comedic influence on the script this turns out to be a funny perverted film.
Having Paul Giamatti doing the voicework as Dr. Satan was a pleasure to hear. They couldn't find a more perfect voiceover than Paul Giamatti.
Overall the movie is a dirty, perverted, but funny movie. The animation in the film is wonderful to watch. For those who know their 80's movies will see a lot of cameos from horror villians. Since there is a lot of sexual talk, nudity, bad language, and gore it is not a film for everybody. Due to the fact that all of this is in a cartoon makes it feel worse. If this was a live action movie then it wouldn't be so bad. It reminded me of Ren And Stimpy snd Scooby-Doo but gone R rated.
