Review of The Haunted World of Edward D. Wood, Jr. (1996) by Christopher S — 12 Dec 2009
Solid biographical documentary tells the story of the extraordinary life of the legendary B-movie director. It gets pretty cheesy at times - though, I guess considering the subject matter, it's acceptable - but its good to hear the strange but true stories of Wood's life and career told by the people who lived it.
Impressive production values for a documentary, but even though it did go on a bit long, it didn't feel like it delved as deeply as it could. Interesting, but not nearly as compelling as Tim Burton's fictionalized biopic.
