Review of The Haunted Palace (1963) by F B — 17 Aug 2013
Oft-considered as part of the Corman-Poe cycle of films made for American International, the plot here is actually derived from a novella by H.P. Lovecraft. Vincent Price gets to act his beard off, playing two roles: Charles Dexter Ward (nice Vincent) and the ancestor whose evil spirit he becomes possessed by, Joseph Curwen, who was burned as a warlock 110 years previously (utter bastard Vincent).
A gothic horror High Plains Drifter with a neat ending.
