Review of The Haunted Mansion (2003) by Tiffany B — 10 Oct 2009
Not really so funny, fun-fill or scary. It is just standard average movie. Eddie Murphy is a property agent who is so engross in his work he neglected his family. So to compensate he decide to bring the whole family to the lakeside.
The night before his wife Marsha Thomason got a call from Terence Stamp who is a butler to a big house, saying the master have plans to sell it and requested her only to drop in. Eddie use this chance to pay a visit but didn't expected much more worse to come.
As a big rain came, they were stranded and offered to stay for the night. Terence is actually going to make Marsha to marry the master Nathaniel Parker in order to lift their curse of been trap in the mansion.
Back then he had poisoned the love of the master as he was prepare to give up everything in his possession. He do it for the best of his master interest. Meanwhile, after getting around the mansion and got to know the truth, Eddie comes to save his family.
His kids were trap in a trunk and he managed to free them. At the wedding ceremony, Marsha had drank the poison. Eddie hands the letter written by his love to Nat and he know the truth. Some kind of hell fire dragon drag Terence down and then the dead spirit of the lady give life back to Marsha.
Nat and her depart together to heaven and hand the deed to the mansion to Eddie. Happy ending in the end.
