Review of The Hateful Eight (2015) by Brian L — 29 Jul 2017
It's amazing the level of disrespect Quentin Tarantino has for black people that he uses the racial slur like 100 times AGAIN as if he's immune from getting punched in the face. It's almost like he is exercising white privilege to constantly remind black folks that we have a long bridge to cross still. Show me another race of people that endures such slander. I'm a filmmaker, so I love films, and he has some good pieces of this film that are excellent. The actors are superb, but the senseless grotesque violence is not. Some of his characters talk too much. It's not Pulp Fiction. Not a fan of exploding heads or lack of character development that is systematically saved by extreme violence.
At the end it is pointless and senseless. Any smart person with a bag of coke and millions of dollars of budget and an A-list celebrity list in his back pocket could pull this off.
