Review of The Hateful Eight (2015) by Larry M — 23 Jun 2016
Well wasn't that a delightful tale of unicorns and bunnies... Yeah ok, this is a Tarantino film, I'm sure if he was to make a film about that the unicorns would be slaughtering the bunnies every 30 minutes after some witty, if drawn out, dialogue.
Herein lies the problem with most of his films, the dialogue, although clever does drag on a bit, sometimes its a little long winded. See Death-Proof for evidence of that. But what he does well is make films that have twists, turns and sudden bursts of unexpected violence that keep you watching until the very end and The Hateful Eight is no exception.
The cast are all brilliant in their roles, the plot as always is drip fed and told in his trademark Chapters. My only real complaint is that for the first hour not much really happens, but keep with it and you'll be in for a decent ride.
Worth a watch.
