Review of The Hateful Eight (2015) by Thesodomizer — 15 Jan 2018
A Tarantino movie in Tarantino fashion. The Hateful Eight wasn't perfect or cinema defying like Pulp Fiction but it had everything I wanted from a Tarantino movie. It was stylish,brutal,clever and old school (sort of like a Clint Eastwood western).
This movie has however some Pulp Fiction in it as well as having some Kill Bill in it to. I can say Tarantino seemed determined whilst making this. Samuel L. Jackson and Kurt Russel were the stars on the show at first but what later (about mid movie to the end) stood out was Jenniffer Jason Leight.
She made The Hateful Eight her own with a very strong performance. The only thing that I didn't like was the length of The Hateful Eight. I seemed just a tad bit to long, but putting that aside everything else about the movie was exceptionally good, especially Tarantino's writing and the casts performance.
