Review of The Hateful Eight (2015) by The Movie G — 11 Jul 2016
The performances all around are exhilarating to watch. When Quentin writes for specific people and those people deliver his dialogue, it's one of the most fun things to watch in cinema, specifically Samuel L.
Jackson. That being said, I think Quentin's in love with his dialogue a little too much here. It doesn't seem to punch you in the same way as it does in his other films, but rather are just lengthy monologues that already explain what the audience is thinking.
It's not one of my favorite Tarantino films, but it's still a fun and unique cinematic experience if not for its passionate homage to Classic Westerns and the rugged archetype characters in the genre.
