IMO Tarantino movies are excellent, but of late he's making them too long. There is nothing wrong with long movies but he tends to spend too much time on unnecessary character development that goes nowhere.

This movie is a prime example...2hrs:47min but you could have cut out about 45mins and actually made it better. What's the point of 5 mins or so watching the wagon of the 4 gang members going through the snow? The 5mins or so watching Joe order candy and the gang getting to know Minnie, and then the time spent showing Joe following a blood trail to shoot another person in the outside storage shed? It was a nothing character being shot which did not add to the already brutal image we had of the gang.

I'm not sure if this will be an ongoing trend with Quentin, but Kill Bill 2, Django and this film all drag on just a little too long.
