Review of The Hate U Give (2018) by Heather L — 21 Oct 2018
Our family went to see The Hate U Give this weekend because we have all read the book, including my 13yr old daughter. We all loved it and felt it was a nice adaptation. The acting, especially by the young woman playing Starr, was terrific. I feel like this book and movie is our modern To Kill a Mockingbird, a piece of art that shines a light on a topic that is difficult to face, but it is so necessary.
I would recommend this to families, especially those with teens, so it can start a conversation.
