Review of The Harvey Girls (1946) by David V — 07 Apr 2008
Not a great story, Angela Lansbury as a prostitute creeps me out, and none of the musical numbers are all that memorable... But, Some of the best costumes I've seen in an MGM film of this era and Judy is just around the peek of her career.
It's her jazzy/bluesy vocal inflections that make the "Atchinson Topeeka" hook so distinct for it's time. I still can't figure out how I managed to miss Cyd Cherisse's legs..
. Can someone please point them out.
