Review of The Harvey Girls (1946) by David B — 16 Sep 2009
I love musicals, and I really enjoy Judy Garland's singing. Her acting is usually more than adequate and it was here. A thin plot, thin storyline on which to hang several fun song and dance numbers.
The real surprise for me was Angela Lansbury who played femme fatale with a quiet panache. And why don't we have leading men that have huge toothy grins like John Hodiak anymore? A question that has too long gone unanswered.
