This flick works and it is solely down to Mike and the Woods...
The story is a very cliched one and it is not particularly great visually speaking but the banter and the interaction between the 2 stars more than make up for it's shortcomings.
Jimmy Woods is great in this, really playing up to the cliched role of a burnt out cop whose personal life suffers because of his obsession with catching the bad guy, in this case a wierdo known as the party crasher. He is funny and angry and is clearly having a great time, using Mikey as a verbal punch bag. Then we have Mikey.... I love this guy to death and it is so sad that he is retired now. He is so much fun in this and he more than holds his own with Jimmy... The rest of the cast are pretty good too, with Luis Guzman and Christina Ricci boith showing up and making an impression...
There is a lot of fun to be had here...
