Review of The Happiness of the Katakuris (2002) by Rob H — 24 Mar 2008
The tag line: The Sound of Music meets Night of the Living Dead.
A good mix of violent horror, comedy, and singing.
A family has given up everything to make a B&B in a secluded countryside with the prospects of a new road being built.
Turmoil begins after their first guest commits suicide! In stead of shear panic, the family breaks out in sham 80's style musical "horror". To save the image of their B&B they bury the body.
What happens next is a string of guests, who untimely fall to varying insane deaths. However, the main road is about to be built! What will happen if they find the bodies?
Despite the nature of the film and the notable director, you'll be laughing, and singing all the way, if you know Japanese!
