I think this was a case of expectation management for me - I was expecting something truly horrible and it's not that bad - certainly not good, but passable. A shadow of the first film for sure, and the lack of characterisation of Cooper and Helms' roles is very obvious, but it's not THAT bad.
Faint praise indeed perhaps.
