Review of The Hangover Part III (2013) by James W — 27 Dec 2013
More of an action movie than a comedy, but the action is very well constructed and the humour remains strong and all the laughs come from the three hugely likeable leads that we've all come to like the company of over three outrageous nutty movies.
The camera shots are stunning from landscapes to extreme close ups, this film has a lot of style going for it. It's good to see old faces returning, although Mr.Chow is overused but nevertheless still entertaining.
Melissa McCarthy brings her vibrance and comic brilliance to the screen as a love interest for Alan, which delivers hilarious results. Hangover Part III isn't as funny as the previous two, there are a lot of misfire jokes but the ones that do work will tickle your ribs.
The ending is a fantastic send off for the Wolf Pack, each going their own way, but when the credits roll there's a sneaky surprise. Overall this is a funny adventure that takes a new direction for the franchise, and comes to a solid mix of crude comedy and stealth/spy style action.
