Review of The Hangover Part III (2013) by Tyler R — 23 Mar 2014
What started off as a surprising comedy with the original turned into a mean spirited copy and paste job with the sequel. Here we are with the third (and very hopefully final) adventure of the Wolf Pack with The Hangover Part III.
This time around, the Wolf Pack finds themselves in deep with a drug lord as he seeks to exact revenge on Chow. Instead of basically remaking the original like Part II did, Part III decides to break away from the normal formula and try something new.
It does and it's refreshing to see something new, but that freshness quickly turns to disgust as you watch just how overly offensive and excessively mean and cruel this one is. The characters seem to really hate one another and pretty much any race and stereotype out there.
Everyone does well enough with what they have, but none of it is funny, at all. All the funny parts are shown in the trailer. I can understand that humor can come from awkward situations, but when the characters are put in those situations, they just feel awkward.
Overall, this film series started off really good, then looked like it was handed over to a bunch of party hard frat boys, and not in a good way. We can only hope that this series is over and the Wolf Pack will never be seen again.
