Review of The Hangover Part II (2011) by Grant K — 19 Oct 2013
A cruder, ruder retread of the original's plot. For some reason, a cameo by Mel Gibson was dropped- allegedly due to his anti-Semitic remarks (although that in itself is questionable- sugar tits isn't really a Semitic comment), and yet Tyson- a violent man convicted of rape- appears again.
The film is wholly unsatisfying because, once again, there is no recompense for the morally bankrupt protagonists. It's difficult to root for anyone who cheats on the eve of their wedding, and that pretty much robs the audience of any desire to see these characters win.
