Review of The Hangover (2009) by Jess L — 06 Feb 2013
Let's calm down people, yes it's funny but it's not a classic comedy. The premise is good and the film is chock full of great one liners that I'm sure people are already quoting, but it's not a masterpiece, it's not even great really, it's a funny, mindless comedy that sweeps you up in the moment.
Zach Galifianakis is the stand out for me, but then again most of his laughs were gained from him either being a) fat or b) stupid so what does that say about us as an audience? Throw in some gay jokes, some boobs and a smidge of male nudity and you have a well constructed frat boy movie, although I'd take Old School over this any day of the week.
