Review of The Hangover (2009) by Sam C — 25 May 2013
In 2009 Todd Philip's The Hangover surprised just about everybody, it received high praise from both audiences and critics alike and it also did quite well at the box office. To me The Hangover is one of the best comedies I have ever seen, what makes it so great is that it was original and not your average comedy.
The writing to this movie is very good because it has a great story along with some fantastic humor. Like I said earlier the film's story is original, four guys get trashed one night and end up losing one of their friends so now they have to find out what happened the night before.
I just really liked the whole idea of these guys having to find out what happened the night before without the viewer actually seeing what happened until the end of the movie. Of course to have a great comedy you need to have great humor and boy does this movie pack the laughs.
All the jokes worked perfectly, I was laughing nonstop from the beginning to the end. One thing that really brought a lot of the laughs to the movie was once again the film's story, the story was just so unique and made a brilliant idea for a comedy.
The characters in this movie were also well written and were all portrayed perfectly. Bradley Cooper, Ed Helms, and Zach Galifianakis all gave terrific performances along with a really good supporting cast which includes none other than Mike Tyson.
Overall The Hangover is a brilliant comedy and is definitely worth checking out!
