'The Handmaiden' is visually stunning, with beautiful costumes, production design and ciematography: every shot could be a painting. The plot takes many unexpected twists and turns, and every revelation sheds new light on the characters and shows them from another perspective.

However I found the continuous time-shifting during the second act a bit confusing and I felt the pace slowed down because of it. Great acting from the four main characters and an epic souundtrack add up to create a movie, that even with its flaws, remains an amazing, woman empowering, erotic thriller.
