Review of The Hand That Rocks the Cradle (1992) by Alicia C — 29 Dec 2007
Passive agressive revenge takes a whole 'nother level here, at least until the explosive final act. While Rebecca de Mornay plays the perfect psychopath, Annabella Sciorra is underrated as the mum who tries to keep it all together.
Madeline Zima plays the standard role of cute daughter, and pulls it off in a way creepily precoscious Dakota Fanning never will. Tied up with a soundtrack that mixes cheerful domesticated bliss with sinister muderous undertones.
Really one of the better thrillers out there.
