Review of The Hamiltons (2006) by Joe J — 24 Aug 2007
My personal favorite of the After Dark series. The Hamiltons not only delivers the thrills, chills and kills from your typical horror movies, but it also throws in family drama you'd find on One Tree Hill or Gilmore Girls.
The story of five siblings recently torn away from their parents after their tragic death, the oldest son takes the role of father figure to the other children...the male/female twins who are both equally psychotic, one kid who lives in the basement, and the middle-aged teenager main character who's struggling with who he is becoming and who his family is in a world of uncertainty. This delivers a more humanistic approach to your typical horror film, and that's what makes this movie exceptional.
