Review of The Hairdresser's Husband (1990) by Nadia V — 11 Mar 2013
(Le mari de la coiffeuse ) A simple story, erotic ( his sexual admiration , obsession and her female satisfaction), very French (( although much more body language than bla bla :-)) and the French are the masters of melancholy and I think in the VS they are not capable of making this kind of movie) , tragic and funny ( Antoine's dancing movements on the catchy Arabic music 'habibi' ).
It's a kind of fairy tale , you never see them eating, sleeping, the age-difference isn't mentioned, only the 'pure love' between them in a magical way ...nothing else needed, nothing else matters..'.just the two of us'...
Don't forget the superb photography on the Italian actress ( the hairdresser), which made her more mysterious...
It's all about 100 % intimacy, deep love and the fear that one day you'll not being loved anymore, that feeling she couldn't bear ...
Mathilde.
82 minutes my heart was caught !
