Review of The Guyver (1991) by Jason D — 01 Mar 2008

I love, love, LOVE this movie. Some of the greatest creature effects and action that has ever been portrayed on screen!!! I don't know how the guy under me can say its got great nobody castings in it, because it's FILLED with genre actors. It's got Re-animator alum Jeffrey Combs (playing Doctor East, ha!) as a scientist who gets his comeuppance and David Gale as the lead villian who turns into a fucking awesome monster in the climax, and it's also got B-movie scream queen Linnea Quigley in a role where she DOESN'T take her top off, however her monster does!!!! Also look for the original Hills Have Eyes scary guy Michael Berryman as the leader in a gang of monsters that beats the shit out of guyver. Last but not least, who could forget Luke Skywalker himself!!!

I'm telling you, this movie was amazing. It is one of my childhood favorites. I loved Screaming Mad George''s creature effects. Why do people have to use CGI when they can use awesome stuff like this!!
