Review of The Gumball Rally (1976) by Fred P — 07 Oct 2016

I haven't read any of the other reviews on this site, so I don't know why the low rating. This is a simple, fun, movie. it's either totally dated or a time capsule, depending on how you look at it.

There is no hidden inner meaning, no subtle messages. At the time, to save gas, they had passed a national speed limit of 55, so maybe it is a protest about that, but so many people broke that law it ranks right up there with Prohibition for overall effectiveness.

Anyway, it has a cool cast of people you hardly ever see, zany cliche characters but well done cliche characters, and some cool cars. Humor totally of it's time.
