Review of The Guilt Trip (2012) by Marc B — 30 Jul 2013
WORD OF MOUTH: There was not much that I wanted to see in Redbox today; so I settled for Guilt Trip, the Barbara Streisand/Seth Rogan Vehicle. First, I have always been a Streisand fan so my viewpoint may be just a bit prejudiced.
I did not like the last movie I saw Seth Rogan in. Green Hornet was possibly the worst movie I have ever paid for and I slept through most of it. I loved this movie. The two were great together. Seth Rogan actually acted in this movie.
I laughed and winced through the whole flick. It was annoying, touching and funny. What are you going to do? Shoot the schwans? This is one of those movies that is great for popcorn on the home screen, not so much the theater.
I am glad that they focused on the mother/son story with humor than making a slapstick that may have appealed to others. There were just so many points in the film where I knew how Andy felt.
