Review of The Guilt Trip (2012) by Mark James A — 02 Dec 2013
This movie is funnier than it has any right to be, and that's due to the chemistry between Rogen and Streisand. It's predictable, and not exactly any surprises pop up, but still enjoyable and I can see many guys relating about their mothers and their interest in their lives.
Rogen mostly plays the straight man here to Streisand's mother, who gets most of the funny bits, but nonetheless, it's better than I expected, and an easy warm feeling for a film like this, which by all accounts, should have been terrible.
I wouldn't go out and recommend it, but it's better than a lot of other films I expected more from. So in that regard I prefer films to be better than expected than to be a let down.
