Review of The Guest (2014) by Steven P — 07 Jan 2015
Dan Stevens' entertaining turn as an Army vet with a mysterious past can't overcome a disappointing and cliche second act that plays out like Jason Bourne meets Terminator. Lance Reddick has nothing to work with as a generic SpecOps Major that makes baffling decisions.
The action is unspectacular and predictable, adversaries are tremendously dull, and the teenagers your typical every-teen at Cliquey Football High USA. Stick to the flicks that this film aims to be.
