From the writer and director of You're Next, I don't think this is quite as good, but it is terrifically entertaining. The Guest is an 80's throwback with a fantastic soundtrack. I think the setup runs a bit long, and Stevens is just decent in a role that calls for fantastic (think Terry O"Quinn in The Stepfather).
But this is a sly treasure trove of an homage that somehow manages to feel fresh. Did I mention that awesome soundtrack? Highly recommended.
