David (Dan Stevens) appears on the Peterson household, saying he served in the military with their dead son and that he came to pay his respects. Soon he wins the whole family with his charm and is asked to stay awhile. But something is really wrong with David...
"The Guest" works on a simple idea and that was the great thing about it. The bigger things are left to the viewers imagination and the final line of the movie sums it up perfectly. Dan Stevens is propably the next big thing of his generation and his portrayal is fantastic, carefully crafted with his looks, movements and actions and he leaves the other cast plainly on his shadow. The movie also salutes the 80's style, like "Drive" did and that made it even more entertaining. Good story, great acting from the lead and also a very good soundtrack, what's not to like?
