Review of The Guest (2014) by Kate H — 24 Jun 2015
You know David isn't who he says he is but you never really get his whole story either. I'm fine enough with that in horror films since that's usually a better practicr but this was just a bit much.
The first half of the film is spent trying to figure out David and how he relates to this family but once the 'answer' is given its really sort of half of one. Much like the filmmakers' previous film "You're Next" this films sort of abrupt change in tone almost works but doesn't quite make it.
