This is a poorly acted little independent film. When looking at all the positive reviews, I suspect that part of the films budget went to the reviewers. Any comparison to the Halloween franchise is laughable.
Unlike Halloween, the film has no sex appeal or "edge of your seat" moments. You'll spend an hour and a half shaking you head and wondering how this ever got distributed.
