Review of The Guest (2014) by Richard S — 04 Dec 2014
This has got B-movie written all over it but it was so ridiculously entertaining that it claws it's way out of the B movie bargain basement to become an awesome thriller that pays tribute to classic nut job thrillers of the early 90's like Pacific Heights, Single White Female and The Hand that Rocks the Cradle. All of these films follow a simple premise of a stranger befriending someone / a couple / a family while keeping their psychopathic tendancies in the shadows.
Dan Stevens does an excellent job as said nut job and holds his own throughout. The final act does verge on the ridiculous but just go with it and pretend you've turned the clock back to 1992.
