Review of The Guardian (2006) by Lana L — 12 Mar 2011
While it may spark many comparisons to other films, The Guardian is exciting and touching. It is predictable, yet fun, and overlong, yet never boring. Costner and Kutcher are great together, whether clashing verbally or teaming up to save lives.
The music and comedy keep the otherwise burdening subject matter in its place. The cliches, length, and predictability are the only reasons that some may not be captivated by this picture. But it didn't repel me at all, and I honestly can say that I was pleasantly surprised.
In my opinion, The Guardian is a worth-while film to soak up.
