This year's "In Bruges", and not surprisingly written and directed by Martin McDonagh's brother, "The Guard" is offensive, dirty, and also harsh in violence and heart. An unlikely partnership with a very unorthodox Irish cop (I hope) and a strict American FBI agent, Brendan Gleeson and Don Cheadle are the most unlikely match for any kind of partnership.
Yet this odd couple pull it off gracefully, with insane tension between.
