Review of The Guard (2011) by Steve W — 22 Feb 2012
Brendan Gleeson is perfect as foul mouthed and corrupted cop Gerry Boyle. He teams up with a straight-laced FBI agent Wendell (Don Cheadle) to take on some philosophical drug dealers. The movie is written and directed by the brother of the writer/director of In Bruges, with a similar style.
Dark comedy, lots of swearing, a bit of action. A sometimes hilarious and well written fish out of water comedy.
