Review of The Guard (2011) by Jens T — 25 Jun 2012
The Guard is as the title suggest a movie about a police man, an Irish policeman named Gerry Boyle (Brendan Gleeson) who one day come a cross a drug case so big that the american FBI is send there to investigate it, which is where agent Wendell Everett (Don Cheadle) an african-american, which it quiet rare in Ireland and makes Gerry automatically come up with racist remarks, and the worst part, is that they have to work together in order to catch the smugglers.
I kind of had big expectations for The Guard, but I was rather disappointed, because the jokes was not good enough, the best part was actually shown in the trailer. But otherwise I like the film, I liked the chemistry between Gleeson and Cheadle and I would recommend it because of excetly that chemistry.
Thumbs up.
