"sooooo scary!" not really. here's the thing: the grudge was a disappointing venture. i'd heard it was a great horror film. this film relied too much on the classic "jump scare" to be truly terrifying.
granted, there are some creepy images. the look of the film is fairly effective, but it moves at such a slow pace that I found myself unable to keep up because the film seemed to slow my metabolism as I watched.
sarah michelle gellar was pretty.... thats it. she wasnt any good, really. overall, this was a horror film that tried to be definitive and smart, but I just couldnt find it in me to buy into that scheme.
the best thing about this movie was the music. fine score, I have to say. but again, not enough to compensate.
