Review of The Grudge (2004) by Michael W — 01 Feb 2012
Interesting movie! "The Grudge" makes me not want to teach in Japan! The house a student works in is haunted, and the ghost causes whoever which enters the place to go insane. The first time around the movie is great.
However, the movie is not a classic, when one watches the film a second time they will notices little flaws in the acting and mood of this movie. The flaws do not ruin the movie because the directing style slowly scares the viewer.
The movie is a slow burn, where the tension builds up and then the shock get to the audience. The first time I have experience such a horror style and thought the movie's direction was brilliant. "The Grudge" is a fresh movie experience, with some flaws and I give "The Grudge" three out of five stars.
