Review of The Grudge (2004) by Ethan P — 17 Nov 2012
Opening text: When someone dies in the grip of a powerful rage... a curse is born. The curse gathers in that place of death. Those who encouter it will be consumed by its fury.
Weird twists of events. Freaky little boy who meows. Chicky-boo that crawls down stairs and likes to peek over your shoulder. I seriously think that every single movie that has been made in Japan, then remade in America, usually tends to suck. Inwich this one did. I did not really like this movie a whole lot. Mainly just because of a lack of a storyline and having some crappy acting really sends this movie down the toilet. Lets just say that after this movie, I know quite a few people who now hate croaking noises. This remake could've been better but of corse it isn't. If I were you I wouldn't waste my energy to go get this movie. But hey if it comes on HBO or something, I'd record it and watch it again. I just find it wierd to see Sarah Michelle Gellar in a horror film other than a Vampire movie or in a lame Scooby Doo remake. Overall I'd say 2 stars hits the spot. Some scary moments, could leave you with a headache and afraid of Asains for a while.
