Review of The Grudge (2004) by Samuel P — 11 Feb 2013
Not the best American remake of a successful Japanese horror film. It's quite ineffective, very predictable and pretty bland. The sudden flashbacks are rather confusing. The jump scares could have been better.
On the plus side, it is quite creepy and the acting is okay. However, I've seen Sarah Michelle Gellar done better in 'I Know What You Did Last Summer'. Of all the American remakes of Asian horror, 'The Ring' is still the best.
Overall, average film-making, but it still entertains a little.
