Review of The Grudge (2004) by Ian P — 23 Sep 2014
A very popular Japanese horror movie remade by the same director (Takashi Shimizu) of the original movie for a Hollywood version. I was satisfied with the remade and few changes it has to do in order to give it a new look, and creepiness for the English-speaking/Hollywood movie viewers.
I like the twist of the story and the telling of the story thru series of flashbacks that unfolds to a horrific revelation. I watched the original Japanese film, and this movie although with changes, pays a lot of homage to the original one.
The Grudge is notable for its classic horror, scares and tension moments that fans will enjoy and will never forget. Sarah Michelle Gellar gave a notable performance in this movie. She was impressive and delivered what a protagonist must-do in a horror movie.
Too bad some movie reviewers didn't appreciate The Grudge fully.
