Review of The Grudge 2 (2006) by Dwight B — 24 Jan 2009
While there are certainly some creepy moments in this film, the story is almost impossible to decipher due to the fractured time frame and juggling of different characters' arcs.
Ultimately, the payoff feels like something of a cheat...as the movie is forced to rewrite events from earlier in order to pull the entire plot together.
It also feels like the original "curse" as explained in the first film appears to "cheat", again with almost little to no explanation as to why it becomes possible.
