Review of The Grudge 2 (2006) by Richard H — 19 May 2009
A great sequel to the remake of the j horror classic. This sequel doesnt use the same storyline as the second which was nice to see and the story they have was really good but confusing as they cut between 3 storys but for me it was all made clear at the end of the film.
The mythology of the grudge contuinues further in this truly amazing installment which is nice to see an interconnectivity between the american and the Japanese films so they are all one story which is told in 2 countries.
The music by Christopher Young is really good and creepy adds anothe layer of atmosphere to the film. The ghost is really put to effect in this film and is really freaky with the movements and although I dont fins these movies scary I love the technical acheivement with the cinematography, editing and visual effects in which they cleverly trick the mind and viewers eye.
Overall another great effort for Shimizu and the grudge team.
