Review of The Grinch (2018) by Tiffany B — 21 Nov 2018
Stink. Stank. Stunk. I was hesitant about this version of the Grinch since first seeing the poster earlier his year. I knew something was off, but also that I must see it, because what grinchy girl misses a Grinch movie? There are so many things this movie has, but what it lacks is GRINCHY-NESS! This Grinch was a sympathetic character, not the mean one we are used to.
Everything about him seemed watered down and cleaned up. The Grinch and Cindy Lou were so similar to Gru and Agnes, that I found myself wondering if some scenes were just b-reel images from the last Minions movie.
The only people who would enjoy this movie are those who have never seen the original, or even the 2000 version, but honestly, I would sooner watch those as a movie night than pay to see this unnecessary, uninspired, money grab.
