Review of The Grey (2012) by Scott A — 05 Jan 2013
For Alaskan workers, they seemed pretty ignorant of how to survive in the wilderness, and for crying out loud, they're wolves, not Middle-Earth Wargs. I'm pretty sure I could kill one or two with my bare hands if I had to before the rest of the pack got me.
It took the whole group with homemade sharksticks (and we need to ask the Mythbusters if a sharpened wooden stick could actually be used as a firing pin) to kill just one. And David Edelstein is wrong, of course.
God did answer him. When he went through the guys' wallets, he saw something "real" in the love of the guys for their family, which is what he asked for. I did like that part, but to me it was just a little too Titanic for me--don't really try to survive and guess what--yes, you'll die.
