Review of The Grey (2012) by Mike G — 01 Mar 2014
Another brilliant film by Liam Neeson and The Grey puts you through so many emotions. So why is this movie called The Grey? Well, I'll explain.
The Grey is about oil riggers that are involved in a plane crash...including Ottway played Liam Neeson, who fight the elements from freezing weather to a vicious pack of hungry Grey wolves (ding ding ding...that's the reason for the title) that are picking the roughnecks off one at a time. It's a true survivor movie with so many twists and turns. As the movie rolls along, you begin to emotionally feel what the characters are experiencing.
As the film draws to a close, Ottway (Neeson) finds himself in an one on one showdown against the Alpha male grey wolf. The ending lets you draw your own conclusion as to what happen in the last seconds of the film...the screen go black & the credits begin to run. Now, like everyone else in the theater, I was shocked and to be honest, a little pissed off...lol. All of us needed to know what the hell happened!!! Well here is something you need to know.
As the movie credits start...don't leave!!! Since the The Grey is now on blu ray and dvd, fast forward through the ending credits. After the credits, the director give you a winner or loser between the Alpha male grey wolf & Ottway. It's about a 10 second clip so be prepared for what you see ;-).
