Review of The Green Mile (1999) by Amelia P — 21 Sep 2012
I tried watching this ten years ago when I was nine, but couldn't due to the grimness of Old Sparky. However, now that I've matured, I've been able to sit and watch this movie in my dorm room.
I must say, this is definitvely a great movie for mature teens/young adults. My friend encouraged me to watch this and I'm glad that I took his advice. I missed the beginning when Paul Edgecomb begins telling his story, but despite that, I was intrigued by the plotline.
The actors were very well chosen, and this is probably one of the best Tom Hanks films I've seen in a long time. I ended up watching this movie on AMC because of Michael Clarke Duncan's passing.
The film was great, even though the result was sad and a bit of a tear-jerker. Both Tom Hanks and Michael Clarke Duncan deserve to be praised for their roles in this film. And Mr. Jingles deserves to receive a mouse-Oscar for his performance.
Everyone should watch this movie at least once in their lifetime, you will not regret it!
