Review of The Green Mile (1999) by Hannah D — 30 Apr 2013
This film reminds me very much of the Shawshank Redemption, not surprisingly as it's from the same director and also based on a book by Stephen King. It was very hard watching the executions in the electric chair, and I had a lot of sympathy for John Coffey (not spelt like the drink).
The fantastical element was unusual and seemed a bit out of place in such a gritty film, but it worked, just about!
